Fabric Fast Week Two

Hey, the fabric fast is not so bad … especially since back ordered fabrics continue to arrive. Ahem…
I am steadily working on my list of projects I want to complete over the next six months.
Yesterday I dove into my wax batiks from Ghana

I am making a sewing machine cover for my daughter. I had forgotten how beautiful these fabrics are.

I’m using the pattern from Malka Dubrawski’s book, Fresh Quilting.
Fresh-quilting cover
It’s a simple pattern, it’s small  and since I have the top done, I should have it quilted in no time.
Speaking of my daughter, while she was here at Christmas she and I visited our favorite thrift shop. When she returned home she transformed this

into this

Check out her blog to see how she did it. Seriously, sewing on fur? I’m amazed.
I’m still making my Tula Pink City Sampler blocks

Gotta run, a package of fabric just arrived.

  2. Those batiks are gorgeous! Fabric fast- you crack me up. And the vest is cute. I would not have the courage or the skill to sew fur.
