As recommended by Leah Day of the Free Motion Quilting Project, I try to do a little free motion play every day. My latest effort involved a feather.
I quilted a square, stitched a feather with a row of echo stitching, then drew cross-hatched lines in the remaining white space. I filled those with lines, experimenting with various textures and directions. This experimental design will definitely find its way to a quilt some day.
If you are playing with free motion quilting, why not link up with Leah and share your work.
It is so relaxing to take a sandwich and just quilt, and its such great practice. Your square is really nice.
